MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS MINUTES 0 A'0- THURSDAY, OCTOBER 119 2001 The Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, October 11, 2001, at 7:00 P.M. at the Mooresville Town Hall. Members present were: President Don Barry, Alan Kramer, Jon Swisher, Mike Young and Jeff Justus. Town Attorney was not present. Alan Kramer, second by Jon Swisher, made a motion to approve minutes of September 13, 2001 as amended. Motion carried 5-0. Next on the agenda was Patti Stevens requesting a variance for 325 Indianapolis Road from R1 to B2. Mrs. Stevens stated that they would be living in the house and running a dog grooming business. There will be no more the four dogs at a time during the day. There are very few homes in the area and there were no objections from the neighbors. She has a letter in the file from Three Phase Electric at 329 Indianapolis Road stating she has permission to use their parking spaces during the day if needed. Mr. Swisher asked if Mrs. Stevens owned the property. She states she would buy the property if the variance were granted. Attorney Phil Smith representing Bobbie Stephens states that most of the • area around the property was commercial and they feel that the dog grooming business would be appropriate use for the area. Mrs. Stevens was requesting a variance for their sign to be mounted on the side of the building. The size of the signs will be 4 ft. by 6 ft and will not be lighted 9" -� Alan Kramer, seconded by Mike Young, made a motion to allow the variance from R1 to B2 for the use of dog grooming business and for two signs to be mounted on the building. Motion carried 5-0. There being no further business to come before the board a motion was made by Jon Swisher, second by Mike Young, to adjourn. Motion carried 5—0.
