TOWN OF MOORESVILLE <br /> BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> MINUTES <br /> The Mooresville of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at 6:00 PM at the <br /> Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Members present: President Jon Swisher, Mike Young, Charles McGuire, Alan Kramer, <br /> and j04 Allman. Tim Currens, Town Attorney, was present. <br /> President Swisher asked for approval and denial of the minutes for the April 12, 2007 <br /> meeting. A motion was made by Alan Kramer, second by Neal Allman, to approve the <br /> minutes for the April 12, 2007 as corrected. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> First on the agenda was JoAnn Owen, 370 W. Carlisle St, requesting a variance of use for <br /> a counseling service. Judith Brown who owns the house received a variance of use to <br /> operate a counseling service at this address. Motion was made by Mike Young, second <br /> by Alan Kramer, to grant a variance of use for 370 W. Carlisle St for the purpose of <br /> operating a counseling service. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Neat Ross Holloway, Holloway Engineering,representing Frank Jackson of Meadow <br /> Lake on Meadow Lake Dr. requesting a sign variance for location and size of sign. The <br /> • existing sign in front of the building is 128 sq. ft. and hard to see among the other signs at <br /> that location. The new sign will be made of wood, five feet from the property line, and <br /> will be 520 sq. ft. from 46o sq. ft. Mr. McGuire asked if the existing sign was the one <br /> approximately 160 feet south of the billboard on State Highway 67. Mr. Holloway said it <br /> was. Mr. Holloway said it will be 35 to 40 feet from the shoulder. After the reading of <br /> the fact-of-findings a motion was made by Mike Young, second by Charles McGuire, to <br /> approve a variance for the footage of the sign to be 520 sq. ft and will set from 35 to 40 <br /> feet from the shoulder. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Next Ross Holloway, Holloway Engineering,representing T A requesting a variance <br /> from development standards for PUD from three acres to acres and they would like to <br /> build condos for visiting employees while they are here from Japan. The condos would <br /> consist of four units and because of the size of the lot they do not meet requirement for <br /> development standards for a PUD. Mr. McGuire stated that this has come before the <br /> Plan Commission twice and has not received a favorable vote. Mr. McGuire stated that <br /> it did not meet the requirement of the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> The developer of the Bridgemor development said this would conflict with their <br /> community and they were not in favor of the development. <br /> George Carlisle, representing the Bridgemor residences said they were not in favor for he <br /> wanted to know what would happen to the housing when TOA no longer wanted to use <br /> the property. <br />
