request by Mr. Jallal for a rezone at 650 and 652 Bridge Street. Ms. <br /> Zimmerman spoke for Mr. Nasir Jallal. Ms. Zimmerman stated the property <br /> on Bridge Street had previously been used as a battery shop and as a feed <br /> store. Upon speaking to the Mooresville Building Department it became <br /> apparent that the change in ownership converted the previously <br /> grandfathered commercial use back to a R1, residential. The current owner is <br /> requesting a permanent rezone. Dennis Nail of the Building Department <br /> agreed with the explanation, he also spoke of the need to do the rezone. The <br /> floor was opened to questions. Ann Whaley questioned the property owners <br /> as to it's current use, automotive repair and detailing. Ms. Zimmerman <br /> mentioned possibly a feed store again in the future in one side or automotive <br /> through out. Darrel Brown questioned the I1 or I2 use. An audience member, <br /> owner of a neighboring property asked what an I1 rating would encompass'? <br /> 11 is light industrial. Darrell Brown expressed concern for parking <br /> availability. Tim Currens stated it was for the board to determine only a <br /> recommendation to present the Town Council with. The board voted <br /> unanimously to recommend to Town Council that 650 and 652 Bridge Street <br /> be changed from an RI to an I1. Mike Young called for new business and <br /> old business. Dennis Nail gave his report: 24 permits and 67 inspections <br /> • since the last meeting, he has also passed out the most recent town maps. <br /> Dennis Nail informed the members of current work being done with 39 <br /> degrees.
