• Mooresville Plan Commission MINUTES Thursday May 24th, 2012 @ 6:00pm The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday May 24t'', 2012 at 6:00pm in the Mooresville Government Center. Members present were: Perry King, Beverly Viles, Jeff Dieterlen, Chairman Mike Young, Ann Whaley, Darrel Brown, Brian Moore, and Town Attorney Tim Currens. Members absent were Brian Anderson and Bill Colbert. The board welcomed new member Brian Moore, a town employee. Chairman Mike Young called the meeting to order. Mike Young requested a motion be made to pass the previous meetings minutes, a motion was made and then seconded by Darrel Brown, motion passed unanimously. Mike Young introduced the next item on the agenda, the Economic Development & Redevelopment plans: 2012 Amendment draft. Tim Currens directed the board to review the enclosed Mooresville map, indicating areas of town for review. Tim Currens begins to review the plan, as "gateways to the community" and the explanation of the entrance necessities. Tim Currens expressed that the ED&RD plan is consistent with the town of Mooresville Master plan. Tim Currens explained to the board and audience that the approval process was presenting the plan to the Plan Commission, then the Town Council and on to a Public Hearing. After having reviewed the map Jeff Dieterlen asked if the proposal included Southbridge, Tim Currens responded with yes the sections in yellow are being added at this time and that one voluntary annex is a possibility, before public hearing, as well. Tim Currens pointed out that nothing in this plan takes power away from the plan Commission, variance board etc, that this draft or proposal is a "clean up". The floor was open to questions by the board and or audience. Darrel Brown stated that he was concerned with the lack of time given to review the proposed changes. Mike Young explains the Plan Commission is simply voting that this is or is not in the best interest, master plan of the town of Mooresville.
