• <br /> Mooresville Plan Commission <br /> MINUTES <br /> Thursday May 24th, 2012 @ 6:00pm <br /> The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday May <br /> 24t'', 2012 at 6:00pm in the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Members present were: Perry King, Beverly Viles, Jeff Dieterlen, Chairman <br /> Mike Young, Ann Whaley, Darrel Brown, Brian Moore, and Town Attorney <br /> Tim Currens. Members absent were Brian Anderson and Bill Colbert. <br /> The board welcomed new member Brian Moore, a town employee. <br /> Chairman Mike Young called the meeting to order. Mike Young requested a <br /> motion be made to pass the previous meetings minutes, a motion was made <br /> and then seconded by Darrel Brown, motion passed unanimously. Mike <br /> Young introduced the next item on the agenda, the Economic Development <br /> & Redevelopment plans: 2012 Amendment draft. Tim Currens directed the <br /> board to review the enclosed Mooresville map, indicating areas of town for <br /> review. Tim Currens begins to review the plan, as "gateways to the <br /> community" and the explanation of the entrance necessities. Tim Currens <br /> expressed that the ED&RD plan is consistent with the town of Mooresville <br /> Master plan. Tim Currens explained to the board and audience that the <br /> approval process was presenting the plan to the Plan Commission, then the <br /> Town Council and on to a Public Hearing. After having reviewed the map <br /> Jeff Dieterlen asked if the proposal included Southbridge, Tim Currens <br /> responded with yes the sections in yellow are being added at this time and <br /> that one voluntary annex is a possibility, before public hearing, as well. Tim <br /> Currens pointed out that nothing in this plan takes power away from the plan <br /> Commission, variance board etc, that this draft or proposal is a "clean up". <br /> The floor was open to questions by the board and or audience. Darrel Brown <br /> stated that he was concerned with the lack of time given to review the <br /> proposed changes. Mike Young explains the Plan Commission is simply <br /> voting that this is or is not in the best interest, master plan of the town of <br /> Mooresville. Jeff Dieterlen expressed concern that the RD should keep the <br />
