February 15, 1988 <br /> <br /> The regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Board of Trustees was held <br />Tuesday, February 15, 1988. Present were Trustees Dick Heald, Pat Overholser, <br />Steve Edwards and President Jack Forbes. <br /> The minutes of the February 1, 1988 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> Mrs. Beulah Patterson of the Church in Mission came before the board to <br />request a walk/run event tobeheldApril 16, 1988, rain date to be April 23, <br />1988. This event would begin at 7:30 a.m. in front of Town Hall, proceed <br />north on Indiana Street to County Line Road, east on County Line Road to <br />Indianapolis Road, through Pioneer Park back to Indianapolis Road to an un- <br />decided local church. After discussing this event the board advised Mrs. <br />Patterson to finalize plans and return to the board meeting on March 1, 1988 <br />for the boards decision. <br /> Rick Chambers and ¥ickie Wright of AT&T advised the board that the additional <br /> cost of off premise telephones from AT&T would be $7.00 to $10.00 per month. The <br /> biggest additional expense would be line charges from Indiana Bell. The board <br /> was advised that the cash price for the system as initially presented would be <br /> $15,345.00 while a lease purchase package would be $303.98 per month for 72 <br /> months. <br /> Mr. William Bailey, Mmple Lane and St. Clair Street appeared before the board <br /> to inquire about a purposed new burning ordinance. Board Attorney TimCurrens <br /> stated we will possibly have a new burning ordinance at the next meeting. <br /> Mr. Tim Holmes and Mr. Ed Marshall of Raffensperger, Hughes & Co. presented <br /> a proposal to the board to refinance the 1984 Sewage Works Bond. Trustee <br /> Steve Edwards made a motion to approve a letter of intent to authorize <br /> Rmffensperger, Hughes & Co. to pursue an ordinance to enable the board to <br /> refinance the 1984 Sewage Works Bond whichwill result in a savings to the town <br /> of Mooresville. Trustee Dick Heald second. Motion carried. <br /> The Methodist Church submitted a request that the Town Street Department <br /> repair the sidewalks on the south side of the church. <br /> The Humane Society submitted a request to hold their annual roadblock on <br /> Saturday, Mmrch 19, 1988. Motion was made by Trustee Dick Heald, second by <br /> Steve Edwards and the board granted this request. <br /> Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation submitted a request that the board <br /> not allow roadblocks on May 21, 1988 as that is the date of conmencement exercises. <br /> The board concurred. <br /> Trustee Pat Overholser advised the board that school Superintendent A1 Long <br /> had once again requested a town board representative to the school's Drug <br /> Abuse Program. President Jack Forbes requested a volunteer for this position,~ <br /> receiving no volunteers President Forbes advised the board there would be no <br /> appointment to this board. <br /> Board Attorney Tim Currens advised the board that Joe Barker had written a <br /> letter to the board in regard to telephone poles in the street. Attorney <br /> Currens suggested that we contact the utility company to advise them we are <br /> aware of this problem. <br /> Board Attorney Currens read a Resolution in full to the board which enables <br /> the Clerk-Treasurer to make demand payments of coupon bonds upon demand with <br /> the stipulation these warrants appear on the next claim register. Motion was <br /> made by Trustee Pat Overholser to approve this resolution. Steve Edwards <br /> second. Motion carried. <br /> Board Attorney Currens read Ordinance #3-1988, an ordiance adopting the <br /> Indiana Fire Prevention code to the board. Motion was made by Trustee Steve <br /> Edwards to adopt Ordinance #3-1988. Trustee Pat Overholser second. Motion <br /> carried. <br /> Resolution to transfer funds was read by Attorney Currens. Motion was made <br /> by Trustee Dick Heald to approve. Trustee Steve Edwards second. Motion carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
