<br /> Tile sale or reutal of any such single-family house Sllall be excepted from
<br /> application of this section only if such house is sold or reoted:
<br />
<br /> (A) without the use in any manner o£ tile sales or reutal
<br /> facilities or services of any real estate broker, agent or salesman, or any
<br /> persou iu the business of selling or renting dwellings, or of guy employee or
<br /> agent of any such broker, agent or salesmau, or persou and
<br />
<br /> (B) without the publication, posting or mailing, after ottce of
<br />advertisemeut or written notice in violatioa o£ sectlon 4(c) of this ordiaaaee,
<br />but nothing in this proviso shall prollibit the use of attorneys, escrow ageuts,
<br />abstracters, title companies and other such pro£essiooal assistance as necessary
<br />to perfect or transfer this title, or
<br />
<br /> (2) rooms or units in dwellings contaiaing living quarters occupied or
<br />intended to be occupied by no more than four am~l~es living independently of
<br />each other, if the owuer actually maiutains and occupies one of sucb living
<br />quarters as his residence.
<br />
<br /> (c) Fer the purposes of subsection (b), a person shall be deemed to be in
<br /> the business of selling or resting dwelliags if:
<br />
<br /> (1) he has, within the preceding twelve mouths, participated as
<br /> prlncipal iu three or more transactions involving the sale or rental of any
<br /> dwelling or any iuterest therein, or
<br />
<br /> (2) be has, within the preceding twelve months, participated as agent,
<br />other thau in the sale of his own personal residence, in providing sales or
<br />rental facilities or services in two or more transactions involving the sale or
<br />reutal of auy dwelliog or any interest therein, or
<br />
<br /> (3) he is the owner of any dwelling unit designed or intended for
<br />occupancy by, or occupied by, five or more families.
<br />
<br /> Sectiou 4. DISCRIMINATION IN THE SALE OR RENTAL OF HOUSING:
<br />
<br />As made applicable by sectlou 3 and except as exempted by sections 3(b) and
<br />it shall be unlawful:
<br />
<br /> (a) To refuse to sell or rent after the making of a bona fide offer, or to
<br />refuse to uegotiate for the sale or rental of, or otherwise make unavailable or
<br />deuy, a dwelling to auy person because of race, color, religtou, sex, familial
<br />status or national origin. .
<br />
<br /> (b) To discriminate against any person iu the terms, conditions, or
<br />privileges of sale or rental o'f a dwelliug, or iu the provision of services or
<br />facilities in coooection therewith, because of race, color, tellgion, sex,
<br />fa, ileal status or national origiu.
<br />
<br /> (c) To make, print, or publish, or cause to be made, priuted, or publlsbed
<br />any notice, statemeut or advertisement, with respect to the sale or rental of a
<br />dwelling that indicates any preference, lla, itatlon, or discrimination based on
<br />race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status or national origin, or an
<br />intentiou to make auy such preference, limitation, or discrimination.
