<br />. <br /> <br />Mooresville is located in the area which was covered by the wis- <br />consin Glacier. Thus, the land around the community is dominated <br />by gently rolling land areas that have been cleared for agricul- <br />tural use. Areas of steep slopes are generally restricted to the <br />floodplain of the Big White Lick Creek and its tributaries. <br /> <br /> <br />,- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Figure 2, Topographic Map. <br /> <br />Contour interval 5 feet. <br /> <br />As demonstrated on the map on the following page, a significant <br />portion of the planning area is in floodplain, the low-lying land <br />surrounding streams and other natural drainage channels that is <br />subject to frequent flooding. The floodplain consists of the <br />floodway, which floods at least every five years, and the flood- <br />way fringe. The floodway fringe is that area surrounding the <br />floodway and extending to the 100 year flood boundary.
