<br />~ <br /> <br />" <br />~. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />, <br />. , <br /> <br />prevent flotation, collapse, or lateral movement of the structure, <br /> <br />(ii) use construction materials and utility equipment that are <br /> <br />resistant to flood damage, and (iii) use construction methods and <br /> <br />practices that will minimize flood damage; and <br /> <br />2. That the said bUilding inspector shall review subdivisi n <br /> <br />proposals and other proposed new improvements to assure that (i) <br /> <br />all such proposals are consistent with the need to minimize flood <br /> <br />damage, (ii) all public utilities and facilities, such as sewer, <br /> <br />gas, electric and water systems are located, elevated, and con- <br /> <br />structed to minimize or <br />drainage is provided so <br />and <br /> <br />eliminate flood damage, and (iii) adequate <br /> <br />as to reduce exposure to flood hazards; <br /> <br />3. That the building inspector shall require new or re- <br /> <br />placement water supply systems and/or sanitary sewer systems to <br /> <br />be designed to minimize or eliminate infiltration of flood waters <br /> <br />into this system and discharges from the systems into flood waters <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />and require on site waste disposal systems to be located so as to <br /> <br />ayoid impairment of them or contamination from them during <br /> <br />flooding. <br /> <br />4. That the bUilding inspector shall require, review of <br /> <br />each permit application to determine whether the proposed site <br /> <br />and improvements will be reasonably safe from such flooding. If <br /> <br />a proposed site and improvements are in a location that may baye <br /> <br />, 1 <br /> <br /> <br />flood hazards, a further review must be made by persons qualified <br /> <br />in geology and soils engineering; and the proposed new constructio <br /> <br /> <br />substantial improyement or alteration, or grading must (i) be <br /> <br /> <br />adequately protected against such possible flooding damage and <br /> <br />(ii) not aggravate the existing hazard. <br /> <br />This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and <br /> <br />after its approval, passage and publication according to law. <br /> <br />, <br />i <br />,J <br />~ <br />
