MOORESVILLE REDEVELOPMENT COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2014, 6:30 P. M. <br /> MOORESVILLE GOVERNMENT CENTER <br /> The Mooresville Redevelopment Commission met in a Public Hearing on Thursday, September <br /> 4, 2014, at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Commissioner members present: Chairman Harold Gutzwiller, Don Stultz,Tim Corman, Bill <br /> Boyd, George Watkins, and non-voting school board member Mark Meadows. Town attorney <br /> Tim Currens was present. <br /> There was a sign-up sheet available for the people who wished to speak at the Public Hearing <br /> on the Bond issue. Chairman Gutzwiller opened the Public Hearing. <br /> Joe Beikman, 1001 Truax Comer Drive, signed up to speak and commented the TIF District was <br /> set up for sewer upgrades. He said he thought the roundabout and signage for the Gateway <br /> j was fine but he didn't think the flames were needed. He said there was a lot of money that was <br /> going to have to be spent now on dispatch. He doesn't blame the commission for jumping on <br /> this to keep the TIF Area going. TIF was designed originally to Opass thru funds to the <br /> taxpayers. TIF helped fund sewer, storm water, and sidewalks. <br /> Commissioner Watkins commented he agrees the commission should pass thru funds. But this <br /> year there were planned projects and the commission decided no excess funds could be passed <br /> thru. The 12 million bond will not cover Gateway,they will have to prioritize. <br /> There being no more comments from the public or commission the Public Hearing was closed. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Watkins with a second by Commissioner Stuitz to <br /> approve the minutes of the last meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Stultz with a second by Commissioner Boyd to approve <br /> the minutes of Executive Session of the last meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Watkins with a second by Commissioner Boyd to approve <br /> the financial statements, Chairman Gutzwiller made not the commission had authorized 1 <br /> million dollars to go for sewer improvement project. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> Shell building update: Commissioner Watkins reported members were sent a draft of letter of <br /> intent in moving toward a possibility of a shell building. Chairman Gutzwiller wanted a no go <br /> option put in on the second page because the commission has not decided yet on a shell <br />
