rc <br /> Minutes of the Metropolitan Police <br /> Commissioners Meeting <br /> March 6, 2007 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Dr. Knierim <br /> welcomed everyone to the meeting. In attendance were 8 of the 9 applicants <br /> for the two (2) available positions, Town Attorney Tim Currens. <br /> ry <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned to approve the minutes from February's <br /> meeting. Commissioner Berwick seconded the motion. <br /> Old Business <br /> No Old Business <br /> New Business <br /> Commissioner Knierim spoke briefly about the Police Officer Hiring <br /> Process and the selection of the new Mooresville Police Officer. <br /> Commissioner Kays recommended Donald Brian Kays as the 20th officer <br /> hired by this department, Commissioner Berwick seconded. Commissioner <br /> Kays recommended Daniel S. Whitley as the 21St officer hired by this <br /> department, Commissioner Berwick seconded. <br /> Commissioner Knierim thanked the other applicants for their interest <br /> in the Mooresville Police Department and advised that they would be placed <br /> on a list for further use. <br /> Commissioner Knierim discussed the Lieutenants opening and the two <br /> applicants, Sgt. William Snyder and Sgt. Mark D. Harris. Commissioner <br /> Knierim stated that Sgt. Harris dropped out of the process due to personal <br /> reasons. <br /> Commissioner Kays recommended Sgt. William Snyder for the <br /> vacancy created by Lt. Jim Bolin's retirement. Commissioner Berwick <br /> seconded. <br />
