e i <br /> Minutes of the Metropolitan Police <br /> Commissioners Meeting <br /> February 211, 2008 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Berwick <br /> welcomed everyone to the meeting. Present were Chief Viles, Commissioners Berwick, <br /> Kays and Bryant and Town Attorney Tim Currens. <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned for the minutes to be approved and Commissioner Bryant <br /> seconded. <br /> Old Business <br /> Chief Viles updated the Police Commissioners on the status of the Wrecker Service SOP, <br /> stating that he had spoke with the owners of the two Wrecker services that MPD <br /> currently uses. Both owners agreed to meet with him but as of this date they have not. <br /> Chief Viles updated the Police Commissioners on the progress with the hiring process <br /> and the upcoming interviews. Chief Viles advised them that they have two scats and an <br /> alternative seat at the May ILEA class. <br /> New Business <br /> Chief Viles advised the Police Commissioners of the Statistics for the Month of January <br /> and advised that it was an average month. <br /> The Police Commissioners agreed to conduct their interviews before the March loth <br /> meeting. <br /> Chief Viles stated that he would like to raise the cost of Incident reports from $5.00 to <br /> $8.00 and Town Attorney Currens advised him on how to proceed with that requests. <br /> Chief Viles advised the Police Commissioners of a legislative bill currently in the Senate, <br /> House Bill 1014, which covers the residency requirements for Police and Fire Personnel. <br /> Chief Viles stated that he would get a copy of the House Bill to the.Town Attorney for his <br /> review. <br /> Chief Viles also advised the Police Commissioners of a legislative bill also currently in <br /> the Senate, House Bill 1204, that covers 911 PSAP's and back-up sites.
