Minutes of the Metropolitan Police <br /> Commissioners Meeting <br /> March 20, 2008 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Berwick <br /> welcomed everyone to the meeting. Present were Chief Viles, Commissioners Berwick, <br /> Kays and Bryant and Town Attorney Tim Currens, Captain Allen, Lt. Snyder, Officer <br /> Pugh, David Schultz, Ryan Goodwin, Brandon Ashbach and Matthew McDaniel. <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned for the minutes to be approved and Commissioner Bryant <br /> seconded. <br /> Old Business <br /> Chief Viles updated the Police Commissioners on the status of the Wrecker Service SOP, <br /> stating that he and Captain Allen had met with the owners of both wrecker services and <br /> the meeting went well. Chief Viles stated that he has not met the Town Attorney but will <br /> have a meeting set up soon. <br /> Commissioner Berwick advised that the hiring process had moved into its final phase, <br /> recommendation of the new police officers. Commissioner Bryant nominated for the <br /> 19th, loth and 21st officers of the Mooresville Police Department: Ryan Goodwin, David <br /> Schultz and Brandon Ashbach. Commissioner Kays seconded the nomination. The <br /> Commissioners agreed to keep the other three names on a list to be utilitized for a time <br /> period of six months. <br /> Chief Viles explained that he would notify the new officers as soon as possible regarding <br /> the next requirements before being sworn in as Mooresville Police Officers. <br /> New Business <br /> Chief Viles advised the Police Commissioners of the Statistics for the Month of <br /> February. <br /> The Commissioners discussed the Reserve SOP and the Town Ordinance the governs the <br /> Reserve Program. They also discussed the Chaplain's SOP and program. They agreed to <br /> discuss SOP 32 and it at the next meeting. <br /> The next meeting will be on April 17, 2008 at 6 pm. <br />
