i The Minutes of the Mooresville Metropolitan <br /> Police Department Police Commission Meeting <br /> May 17, 2012 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Bryant welcomed <br /> everyone to the meeting. Present were Commissioners Bryant, Fitzpatrick and Kays, <br /> Police Chief Timothy Viles and Town Attorney Tim Currens. <br /> Commissioner Kays motioned for April's minutes to be approved. Commissioner <br /> Fitzpatrick seconded. <br /> 1.1 I -A rri12012 <br /> Incident Reports 253 <br /> Arrest Reports 239 <br /> Traffic Citations 90 <br /> Traffic Warnings 77 <br /> Accidents 23 <br /> Dld business <br /> ( Commissioner Fitzpatrick expressed his concerns over the current meeting location. <br /> After a brief discussion it was determined that the location would stay the same however <br /> the Commissioners would have the option to move the meeting to Town Hall if the <br /> agenda/forum requires a larger area. <br /> Commissioner Fitzpatrick also stated that he would Iike to see the Police Commission <br /> meeting minutes on the PD's website and all parties agreed. <br /> New I usiness <br /> Commissioner Fitzpatrick questioned why our police department had no involvement <br /> on the Morgan County SWAT team and Chief Viles responded to all of his questions. <br /> Chief Viles also stated that the lack of funding was part of the reason for no specialty <br /> areas in the department.Chief Viles also stated that he would speak with the Town <br /> Board to see if any additional monies would be available. <br /> Chief Viles spoke briefly about the AED program at the police department. <br /> SOP's 23.08 and 23.09 were reviewed by the Commission and approved. <br /> SOP 30.03 will be reviewed for the next meeting. <br /> The next meeting will be held on June 21, 2012 at 6:oo PM. <br />
