The Minutes of the Mooresville Metropolitan <br /> Police Department Police Commission Meeting <br /> September 20, 2012 <br /> The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance. Commissioner Bryant welcomed <br /> everyone to the meeting. Present were Commissioners Bryant, Fitzpatrick and Police <br /> Chief Timothy Viles. <br /> Commissioner Fitzpatrick motioned for July and August's minutes to be approved. <br /> Commissioner Bryant seconded. <br /> Statistics —August 2012 <br /> Incident Reports 276 <br /> Arrest Reports 170 <br /> Traffic Citations 75 <br /> Traffic Warnings 46 <br /> Accidents 28 <br /> Old Business <br /> Chief Viles updated the Commission on the status of Sgt Eric Pugh as well as advising <br /> the Commission that Officer Chris White left the department to pursue his law <br /> enforcement career elsewhere. <br /> Chief Viles was given approval to begin a hiring process by the Police Commission, <br /> requesting that the department start with all ILEA graduates (lateral transfers). <br /> Chief Viles advised that the tasers are in and the officers will begin training on them in <br /> the upcoming month. <br /> The Commission discussed the SOP regarding tasers and changes were made to the <br /> SOP. Commissioner Bryant made a motion to approve the new SOP and Commissioner <br /> Fitzpatrick seconded. <br /> New Business <br /> No New Business at this time. <br /> The next meeting will be held on October i8, 2012 at 6:oo PM. <br />
