Mooresville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners <br /> Police Department Sue Kays <br /> Larry Bryant <br /> Steve Fitzpatrick <br /> MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br /> These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br /> held at the Mooresville Town Hall on July 17, 2014. <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: Sue Kays, Steve Fitzpatrick, Larry Bryant <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Captain Richard Allen, Amanda Camell, George Watkins, Matt <br /> McDaniel, David McDaniel, Amy Hillenbcrg <br /> The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. <br /> The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br /> Larry Bryant made a motion to accept April s minutes. Steve Fitzpatrick seconded. No discussion. Motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> Captain Allen updated the Police Commission on the status of the new patrol rifles and would be updating the SOP <br /> to present to the Commissioners. <br /> Captain Allen updated that Police Commission on the status of the SWAT officers and the upcoming K-9 program. <br /> Captain Allen advised the Police Commission that he had turned his budget in for the upcoming year to be reviewed <br /> by the Mooresville Town Board. Captain Allen staled that he included the SWAT and K-9 programs, new SUV's <br /> and raises for all his employees as well as a 5% increase over this year's budget. <br /> Captain Allen advised that he was working with the Town Hall to hire new school crossing guards. Captain Allen <br /> also advised that he had hired a part time dispatcher and that she was currently in training.Captain Allen stated that <br /> she comes with many years experience as an ISP dispatcher. <br /> Captain Allen advised that Old Settlers is coming up and that there would not be an annual inspection. Captain Allen <br /> stated that the shift Sergeants are doing an excellent job with the monthly inspections and felt like the annual was <br /> not necessary after speaking with the three Lieutenants. <br /> Captain Allen updated that Police Commission on the status of the property room, Sgt Pugh, Spillman and the <br /> upcoming self-defense seminar. <br /> After speaking briefly, Steve Fitzpatrick made a motion to promote Captain Allen to Chief of Police. Larry Bryant <br /> seconded.No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> The Police Commission and Attorney Charlie Braun spoke briefly about the Mooresville Town Ordinances and the <br /> current Indiana State Laws that govern the hiring of a police chief, Charlie stated that the Police Commission <br /> appoints the candidate for Chief of Police and that the Town Board approves. <br />
