Mooresville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners Police Department LarryBryant I�u p Y Sue Kays MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission held at the Mooresville Police Department on January 15, 2015. MEMBERS PRESENT: Sue Kays, Larry Bryant ALSO PRESENT: Chief Richard Allen,Amanda Carrell, Ronald Cooper, Attorney Charles Braun, David Rogers,Randy Rogers, Chuck Berwick The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. The Pledge of Allegiance was given. Sue Kays made a motion for Larry Bryant to be president of the commission for 2015.Larry Bryant seconded.No discussion.Motion passed unanimously. Sue Kays made a motion to accept the minutes of the December meeting. Larry Bryant seconded.No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the status of the 21st and 22"d officer positions. Chief Allen stated that we currently have 48 applicants,40 without the academy and 8 with. Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that he will be interviewing for the position of Sergeant and that three patrolmen have applied. Chief Allen stated that he would like the promotion to take place as soon as possible. Both commissioners agreed that once the interviews were done they would hold a special meeting to announce the new Sergeant. Chief Allen also advised that he would be having a pension board election as well. Chief Allen updated that Police Commission on the upcoming purchase of 5 vehicles,the dispatch center and the K9 program. Chief Allen presented the Police Commission with SOP 33.00,Administration of Narcan. Chief Allen stated that the policy is similar to the one that is used by the Morgan County Sheriff's Department and Martinsville Police Department. Sue Kays made a motion to accept the SOP as written.Larry Bryant seconded.Motion passed unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at 6:17 PM. The next meeting will be held on February 19,2015 at 6:00 PM at the Mooresville Police Department. THESE MINUTES SO APPROVED ON THIS DAY THE 19`h day of February 2015.
