Mooresville Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners <br />Police Department Larry Bryant <br />Sue Kays <br />Fred Settle <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on October 15, 2015. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Fred Settle <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Richard Allen, Attorney Charles Braun, Steve McQueen <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the minutes of the September meeting. Larry Bryant <br />seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on asking the Mooresville Town Board for five new <br />vehicles and two new officers to replace Captain Cooper and Lieutenant Snyder when they retire <br />in January. Chief Allen also updated that Police Commission on the status of paint and new <br />carpet for the building. <br />Chief Allen spoke briefly about SOP 1.02. There was a discussion among the parties present. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the SOP as written. Larry Bryant seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />Chief Allen presented the Police Commission with SOP 8.07 to review for the November <br />meeting. <br />Chief Allen advised that Halloween trick or treating hours would be from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. <br />Chief Allen also advised that the department had upcoming training, EVOC and Firearms, on <br />October 17,18 and 19. <br />Chief Allen advised that he had implemented an "8" contact per officer per day on October 7th <br />during the Supervisor Meeting. Chief Allen explained that a contact was a case report, written <br />warning, written citation, accident report or anything that generated a paper trail. Chief Allen <br />stated that he had received positive feedback from the Town Board. Chief Allen stated that each <br />officer will be subject to a performance evaluation by their Lieutenant and that each Lieutenant <br />sets their own standards. Chief Allen stated that the officers are being more proactive rather than <br />reactive. <br />
