MOORESV l I.LE REDEVEI,OPMENT COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13, 2012, 6:00 P. M. <br /> The Mooresville Redevelopment Commission met on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 6:00 <br /> P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br /> Commission members present were: Chairman Harold Gutzwiller, George Watkins,Tim <br /> Corman, and Don Stultz. No members were absent. Ron Wright, a non voting <br /> Mooresville School representative was present. Attorney Tim Currens was present and <br /> Morgan County Economic Director Joy Sessing was present. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Corman with a second by Commissioner Stultz to <br /> approve the May 21, 2012 minutes. Motion carried 4-0. <br /> Next, the Memorandum of Understanding between Ivy Tech and Mooresville <br /> Redevelopment Commission was discussed. The Redevelopment Commission commits <br /> $825,000 for improvements not to exceed $60,000 for furniture and equipment, <br /> scholarships exclusively in the amount of$100,000 over five years. The lease is for 10 <br /> years and there is a claw back if Ivy Tech is not there for 10 years. A motion to ratify the <br /> Memorandum of Understanding was made by Commissioner Corman with a second by <br /> Commissioner Stultz. Motion carried 4-0. In February of 2011 Ivy Tech made a desire <br /> to have their school in Mooresville. Mr. Wright wants Superintendent Brad Lindsey kept in the loop on the <br /> project. Chairman Gutzwiller said the Town will have no part in negotiations, but hopes <br /> Ivy Tech and the High School will keep lines of communication open. The <br /> Redevelopment Commission has no desire to be owners of a shopping mall such as <br /> Southbridge, so as soon as the property can be put back on the market they will put it <br /> back on the market. <br /> Umbaugh and Associates, Jason Semler,presented the annual report to the commission. <br /> Prior to July 1 each year the commission is required to decide if there are excess revenues <br /> to pass thru to other tax entities. <br /> There are a list of projects in the plan amendment that could cost between 10 and 30 <br /> million dollars. Chairman Gutzwillcr's personal view for 2012 payable 2013 is to not <br /> pass thru any tax increment to other entities. A motion was made by Commissioner <br /> Corman to not pass thru any tax increment to other taxing units. Commissioner Stultz <br />
