Board of Zoning Appeals Minutes <br />Thursday February 12th, 2015 <br />Members Present: Mike Young, Alan Kramer, Perry King, Neal Allman and town attorney Tim <br />Currens <br />Neal Allman called the meeting to order and called for a motion on the previous minutes. Mike <br />Young made a motion to pass the minutes as written, Perry King seconded the motion, motion <br />passed unanimous. Tim Currens presented the members with previous facts of findings, the <br />members reviewed the facts of findings, made a motion to pass them as written and the motion <br />passed 4 -0. <br />The first item on the agenda is the reorganization. Mike Young nominated Neal Allman to <br />remain chairman, Alan Kramer seconded the nomination and the members voted unanimously. <br />Mike Young nominated Alan Kranmer as vice chairman, that nomination also passed <br />unanimously. Mike Young nominated Perry King for secretary, that nomination passed 4 -0. <br />Next item on the agenda: Mr. Broadstreet at 41 W. Washington St. is requesting the allowance of <br />a newly constructed addition to his garage to remain and allowance for completion. Mr. <br />Broadstreet explained that in early 2014 when his mother fell ill he became in possession of her <br />car, he needed additional storage space in his garage and believed that as his for additional <br />storage were under 100 square feet he did not need to obtain a building permit. Once he received <br />a letter from Dennis Nail, of the building department, stating that he was in violation he halted <br />construction. He presented the members with photos of neighboring homes, their garages and <br />where they sit in comparison to distance to alley right of ways, he spoke of the low flow traffic, <br />and that as of yet the constructed addition has seemed to cause no issues, should an accident <br />happen he states he has homeowners and can only assume vehicles would also be insured, <br />therefore nothing should come back on the town. If given permission is given to allow the <br />addition to remain he will seek a building permit to complete the construction. Neal Allman <br />clarified the height of the foundation, Neal Allman then called for questions, none were asked, <br />he called for a motion, Mike Young made a motion to approve, it was seconded and passed 4 -0. <br />Tim Currens made an announcement to the audience that any other business had been postponed. <br />A motion wa ade to dj ourn, seconded and passed. <br />
