MINUTES OF THE HOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br /> <br /> November 25, 1974 <br /> <br /> The Hooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met for a special <br />called meeting on Monday, November 25, 1974 at 7:30 P.M. The public <br />meeting was held in the Municipal Building in the Chamber of Com- <br />merce section pursuant to notice. The meeting was held to consider <br />Petition No. 2, 1974 filed by Thoburn L. and Regina C. Hammond. <br /> <br /> Those Board members present at this meeting were: Mr. William <br />Roberson; Hrs. Eweather Stephens; Mr. Jim Beasley, and Mr. Paul <br />Walters. The attorney for the Board was also present, David E. <br /> <br />There was no old business to come before the Board. <br /> <br /> Prior to hearing evidence on the petition, the Board was pre- <br />sented with a letter from Donnie H. and Donna May Barnett requesting <br />that their name be removed from a petition which had been previously <br />presented. Their names were struck. <br /> <br /> A written statement was also received from Mrs. James Lyons, <br />along with an additional document containing the names indicating <br />opposition to the petition for a variance. The Board also received <br />written statements from Mrs. Lovetta Smith. <br /> <br /> Thereupon, the hearing proceeded, evidence being presented by <br />the petitioner Thoburn L. Hammond. <br /> <br /> Two remonstrators to the petition were <br />Mr. James Lyons, 81 Brentwood, and from Mrs. <br />wood Drive. <br /> <br />heard, the same being, <br /> Sue Christie, 95 Brent- <br /> <br /> Thereafter, there was an exchange of <br />from remonstrators, from petitioners, and <br />the Board to the petitioners. <br /> <br />questions <br />questions <br /> <br />and comments <br />were asked by <br /> <br /> Two interested parties spoke in favor of granting the petition. <br />These persons were Mr. Lavern Riese, 80 Brentwood Drive and Mr. Carl <br />Nungester, 65 Brentwood Drive. <br /> <br /> The Board having heard all the evidence and having considered <br />the matter, a motion was duly made by Hr. Paul Walters and seconded <br />by Hr. Jim Beasley to approve the requested variance for an up- <br />holstery shop in the basement of the home of the petitioners subject <br />to the following restrictions: <br /> <br />(Legal description to subject real estate: <br /> Lot 24 in Brentwood Heights Subdivision estimated to <br /> contain .16 acre, more or less.) <br /> <br /> <br />
