Mooresville Metropolitan <br />Police Department <br />Board of Police Commissioners <br />Larry Bryant <br />Sue Kays <br />Fred Settle <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Brian Wiser <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Allen, Captain Cooper, Lieutenant Snyder, Officer Hester, <br />Detective Yarnell, Sergeant Rogers, Sergeant Julian, David Rogers, <br />Tommy Warthen, Attorney Charles Braun, Virginia Perry, Amanda <br />Carnell <br />The meeting was called to order at 6:00 PM. <br />The Pledge of Allegiance was given. <br />Brian Wiser made a motion to accept the minutes of the December meeting. Larry Bryant <br />seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen wanted to make sure that everyone received the December and 2015 year end stats. <br />He also advised the PC that the SOP approved earlier had been updated in the computer and the <br />officers have been made aware. He would like to continue reviewing the SOP's each month. <br />PC Attorney Braun wanted to publicly commend Chief Allen on his leadership and the hard <br />work that the officers of the department have put forth. He further stated that the yearend stats <br />were quite impressive. <br />Chief Allen updated the PC on the status of the new vehicles, with three still needing to be <br />completed but two are on the street. <br />Chief Allen advised the PC that as of midnight tonight, Captain Cooper and Lieutenant Snyder <br />will be retired from the department as full time officers. Chief Allen advised that he received a <br />resignation letter from Lieutenant Harris stating that he wished to go back to a patrolman. Chief <br />Allen advised that he would like to promote Sgt. Rogers to Lieutenant (day shift) and Sgt. Julian <br />to Lieutenant (evening shift). Chief Allen also advised that he would like to appoint Detective <br />Yarnell to the position of Captain. Chief Allen also advised that he would like to appoint Officer <br />Kays to the position of Detective. Chief Allen advised that these changes would take place on <br />January 23, 2016. Brian Wiser made a motion to accept all the recommendations of Chief Allen. <br />Larry Bryant seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />
