Mooresville Metropolitan Police Department Board of Police Commissioners Larry Bryant Brian Wiser Fred Settle MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission held at the Mooresville Police Department on April 20, 2017. MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Fred Settle, Brian Wiser ALSO PRESENT: Chief Richard Allen, Attorney Charles Braun, Amanda Carrell Call to order at 6:03 PM. Fred Settle made a motion to accept the meeting minutes from March 26, 2017. Brian Wiser seconded the motion. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. Chief Allen presented the Police Commission with the statistics from the month of March. Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the status of the new building. Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the completion of the annual 24 hours of mandatory training that each officer must complete. Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that on April 2, 2017, Officers Chipman and Mitsch completed their probationary year. Chief Allen advised that Officer Mitsch had turned in his resignation. Chief Allen advised that Officers Horgan and Pope would begin their FTO in uniform on Monday, May 1st Chief Allen advised that the Morgan County Sheriff's Department and the Mooresville Police Department are putting together an interdiction team with a grant that is being funded by the Morgan County Substance Abuse Council. Chief Allen advised that the vests have been ordered and that the department will be required to pay half the costs. Chief Allen presented Mooresville Communications SOP PER -08 to the commission for revision. Chief Allen stated that he would like to add his designee to the procedure section. Brian Wiser made a motion to accept the changes. Fred Settle seconded the changes. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously.
