September 4, 2018 1.379 <br />The Mooresville Town Council met in regular session on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, at 6:30 P. M. at <br />the Mooresville Government Center. <br />Town Council members present: Tom Warthen, David Rogers, Joe Beikman, Dustin Stanley, and Mark <br />Mathis. No members were absent. Attorney Mel Daniel was present. <br />(1) u541',4 5+a I �y 5.f� <br />Davrd-Roger-s gave the prayer. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stanley with a second by Councilman Rogers to approve minutes of <br />the August 211 meeting. Motion carried 5-0. <br />New Business: Annexation for Williams and Scalf: <br />Mr. Scalf met with some of council to see if he would be interested in annexation to Town. They talked <br />about differences in taxes and hook on costs. Mr. Scalf will pay the monthly stormwater fee but will <br />stay on septic for now. He will be served by Police and Fire and leaf pick up. <br />Mr. Scalf shared some history of John Wilson Dillenger Sr. and Lilly Fields marrying in 1934 and <br />beginning their life in the house he now lives in. He also showed some pictures of the Dillenger family <br />including John DillengerJr. Upon Mr. Scalfs death the house will go to the Troubled Youth Fund and be <br />preserved as history and he has 300 heirlooms. The house will have plumbing removed and a block <br />house restroom facility on the property. Jeff has requested a sign to be put at Denny Drive to say: <br />Dillenger Farm Road. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rogers with a second by Councilman Beikman to approve Resolution <br />#8, 2018 for approving the annexation. Motion carried 5-0. October 2nd meeting will be the Public <br />Hearing for the annexation. <br />Rezone on Orchard Road: Ross Holloway presented the rezone on property owned by Roger and Debbie <br />Brown. They have a conveyor business and want to put in some mini warehousing that requires an 1-1 <br />zoning. Buffering of 100 feet is required. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Mathis with a second by Councilman Rogers to approve Ordinance <br />#2, 2018 rezoning from Ag to 1-1. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Rogers announced the meeting was recording live tonight. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Rogers with a second by Councilman Beikman to approve payment <br />of claims in an amount of $607,129.77. Motion carried 5-0. <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be on Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 P. <br />M. This will also be a Public Hearing for Pre -Adoption of 2019 budget. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time a motion was made by <br />Councilman Rogers with a second by Councilman Stanley to adjourn the meeting.
