Mooresville Metropolitan <br />Police Department <br />Board of Police Commissioners <br />Larry Bryant <br />Fred Settle <br />Danny Lundy <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on February 21, 2019. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Fred Settle, Danny Lundy <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Allen, Charles Braun, Anthony Woodside, Amanda Carnell <br />Call to order at 6:00 PM. <br />Fred Settle made a motion to accept the minutes from the January meeting. Danny Lundy <br />seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission that all five new police vehicles had been delivered. <br />Currently, three of the five are on the road and the other two should be completed in two weeks. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission that the new police department is coming along <br />great. Motorola has their antenna up and IPL is working on getting power transferred to the new <br />building and a new substation. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission that the Town Board asked for and received <br />$450,000 from the Redevelopment Commission to assist in the costs associated with the new <br />police department. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the hiring process. The physical agility and <br />written tests were held on February 2" d — 22 applicants showed up for the physical agility with 20 <br />applicants passing the phase to take the written test. Chief Allen advised that of the 20 applicants <br />that took the written test, the top 50% were sent to the background phase. Chief Allen advised <br />that 9 applicants turned in their packets and there are currently four applicants remaining. Chief <br />Allen advised that he would like get the remaining part of the process completed so he could <br />provide the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy three names for the May class. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the portable radios and the new laptop <br />computers. <br />Chief Allen advised the Police Commission that there were two Sergeant Positions open and that <br />interviews were held. Chief Allen advised that he would like to promote Officer David Schultz <br />and Detective Brian Kays to Sergeant. Danny Lundy made a motion to promote Officer Schultz <br />and Detective Kays to Sergeant. Fred Settle seconded the motion. No discussion. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />
