Mooresville Metropolitan <br />Police Department <br />Board of Police Commissioners <br />Larry Bryant <br />Fred Settle <br />Danny Lundy <br />MOORESVILLE POLICE COMMISSION MINUTES <br />These are the Minutes of the regularly scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Police Commission <br />held at the Mooresville Police Department on April 18, 2019. <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Larry Bryant, Fred Settle, Danny Lundy <br />ALSO PRESENT: Chief Allen, Charles Braun, Anthony Woodside, Ronald Cooper, <br />Tom Warthen, Amanda Carvell <br />Call to order at 6:00 PM. <br />Danny Lundy made a motion to accept the minutes from the March meeting. Fred Settle <br />seconded. No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the status of the new police department. Chief <br />Allen advised that they still had several IT items that needed to be installed and are hoping to <br />have a move in date within 30-60 days. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the hiring process (that began in 2018). The three <br />remaining applicants went to the complete their physicals earlier in the week (2 on the 16`h of <br />April and 1 on the 17`h of April). Once the physicals are complete and have been sent to the <br />department, a local pension board meeting will be conducted so that they can approve the three <br />applicants. The local pension board meeting must be posted 48 hours in advance before the <br />meeting. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the hiring process (that began in 2019). He <br />advised that closing date for applications was May 3`d but he had already received one <br />application that would be considered a lateral transfer. Chief Allen asked the Police Commission <br />for permission to expedite the process for any laterals that applied with our department. Danny <br />Lundy made a motion to expedite the process for any laterals. Fred Settle seconded the motion. <br />No discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Allen updated the Police Commission on the statistics for the month of March. <br />Danny Lundy advised the Police Commission that he would like to do employee surveys to see <br />what they can do to keep the officers that are currently working at our department. After hearing <br />from Tom Warthen, Ronald Cooper and Charles Braun, it was suggested that an executive <br />meeting would be best to iron out the details of the employee surveys. Fred Settle made a motion <br />to hold an executive session to discuss the employee surveys. Danny Lundy seconded the <br />motion. There was some discussion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />
