presented a report to the council that detailed the equipment that he would like to purchase for <br />the cars. There was some discussion of recent equipment purchases and car count. Councilman <br />Warthen made a motion to table the discussion until the next meeting when more information <br />can be gathered. Councilwoman Hester seconded. Motion Carried 5-0. <br />Rezone North Ferguson Rd the Council received a favorable recommendation from the Plan <br />Commission to rezone a lot behind Allison Transmission from AG to R-1. There was no ordinance <br />provided with the information. Councilman Warthen made a motion to table the issue for lack <br />of information. Councilman Stanley seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Department Head Reports — <br />Police Chief Jillian thanked the agencies and town employees that assisted with the July 3rd protest. <br />Assistant Fire Chief Dalton presented to the council call stats, May 2020 (144 runs) and June 2020 <br />(149 runs). <br />Calvin Boultbee from the wastewater treatment gave an update on the new clarifier installation. <br />There are loose ends being addressed with the contractor. <br />Legal - <br />Town Roofing Bid Update — Kaitlyn Voller on behalf of the town attorney gave an update on the bid <br />situation and she was told that the work did need to be done, and that it is being worked out <br />between the parties. <br />Public Comments — <br />William Henry resident from Plainfield presented himself before the Town Council to express his <br />displeasure about the leadership that was displayed during the July 3rd protests with regards to an <br />armed citizen with a biped on the roof of a business. His primary concern was firearm safety displayed <br />by a particular group. He stated that people are infiltrating communities with the primary goal to <br />escalate the situation, and it is important to show proper leadership during these events. <br />Scott Anderson and Steve McKee presented themselves before the Council as a representative of the <br />Roberson Woods HOA regarding flooding during heavy rains and a request to install storm drains. Steve <br />McKee informed the Council that the catch basins empty into his back yard. He presented pictures to <br />the Council of what happens. Councilman Stanley requested that Dave investigate the situation before <br />the next meeting. <br />Crystal Davis presented herself before the Council to express her concern about the firearm safety that <br />was displayed during the July 3 rd protests particularly pertaining to the person with a firearm on the <br />roof. She does not believe that the situation was handled appropriately. <br />Crystal Henry resident of Plainfield presented herself before the Council to express her concern about <br />the firearm safety displayed during the July 3 rd protest particularly pertaining to the individual with a <br />firearm on the roof of a local business. <br />Sara Smock 864 Bunker Hill presented herself before the Council to express her concern about the <br />firearm safety displayed during the July 3 rd protest particularly pertaining to the individual with a <br />firearm on the roof of a local business. She does believe that it should be used as a learning experience. <br />She also expressed concern about the possibility of federal funding being available for the <br />reimbursement of the software that was discussed earlier. She also expressed that she appreciated the <br />transparency and communication of the Council. <br />Councilman Williams stated for the record that the business in question that one of the tenants of the <br />building allowed the person in question onto the roof of the building and there were no federal, state, <br />or town ordinance that was broken. And he was proud of the job of the Police department and their <br />response and made a point to state that at no time was the police department at a tactical disadvantage <br />during the protest. <br />
