TOWN OF MOORESVILLE <br />RESOLUTION NO: 32-2021 <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS TO REPORT <br />CYBERSECURITY INCIDENTS <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Mooresville (the "Town') is a political subdivision <br />existing under the provisions of Ind. Code § 36-4-1, et. seq.; <br />WHEREAS, the Mooresville Town Council (the "Council") is the fiscal body of <br />the Town; <br />WHEREAS, on July 1, 2021, Indiana lawmakers passed HEA 1169 that will <br />increase the amount of information sharing regarding cyberattacks and other threats <br />across state agencies and local government. <br />WHEREAS, this new law requires public -sector entities to report incidents such <br />as ransomware, software vulnerability exploitations, denial -of -service attacks and more. <br />WHEREAS, the law also requires the Town designate a primary contact for <br />reporting purposes, but it can provide several contacts who will be authorized to report <br />incidents and receive any information resulting from incident reporting. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mooresville Town Council as <br />follows: <br />1. The Town of Mooresville is an entity required to comply with HEA 1169. <br />2. In accordance with the requirements of HEA 1169, the Council hereby <br />designates the following persons to report incidents and receive any information <br />resulting from incident reporting: <br />• Primary contact: Director of IT <br />• Alternate contact: Clerk -Treasurer <br />• Alternate contact: Town Council President <br />1 <br />
