SECTION IX. <br />OVERTIME <br />All employees of the Town that are not elected officials and not excluded as <br />supervisors shall receive overtime compensation. Overtime shall be defined <br />as hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Overtime compensation shall <br />be paid at the rate of 1'/z hour of wages for every 1 hour in excess of 40 hours <br />of work per week. These provisions shall not apply to the Police Chief and the <br />Fire Chief where comp time is granted to these officers so long as the Federal <br />Fair Labor Standards Act provisions are met. <br />SECTION X. <br />0 - 4 years <br />5 - 9 years <br />10 - 14 years <br />LONGEVITY SCALE <br />$ 0.00 <br />500.00 per year <br />1,000.00 per year <br />15 - 19 years 1,500.00 per year <br />20 years and above 2,000.00 per year <br />($19.23 bi-weekly) <br />( 38.46 bi-weekly) <br />( 57.69 bi-weekly) <br />$ 76.92 bi-weekly) <br />All longevity is payable in equal increments over the pay period for that year. <br />This longevity scale was added in 2002 and is not additional to previous <br />longevity amounts being paid but whichever is greater. Previous longevity pay <br />shall be calculated by multiplying the number of years employed by the Town <br />of Mooresville by $200.00. The number of years employed shall be determined <br />by counting the calendar year an employee was hired as 1 complete year, plus <br />each successive year the employee has continued to be employed by the Town, <br />plus the calendar year 1991 (to be treated as 1 additional year) and adding these 3 <br />figures together to derive the amount of longevity pay an employee would be <br />entitled to. No employee shall receive any credit for longevity service after the year <br />1991. <br />Longevity formula 2002 and thereafter shall be as follows: <br />Longevity pay shall be calculated by using a "longevity scale" set out at the top <br />of this section and applying the following definitions: a year of service shall be <br />calculated by the date the individual was hired on a full-time basis and totaling 365 <br />days to complete 1 year of service. The adjustment in pay shall be made annually <br />based upon the number of years of service as of the employee's hire date of each <br />calendar year. <br />
