SECTION IX.
OVERTIME
All employees of the Town that are not elected officials and not excluded as
supervisors shall receive overtime compensation. Overtime shall be defined
as hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week. Overtime compensation shall
be paid at the rate of 1'/z hour of wages for every 1 hour in excess of 40 hours
of work per week. These provisions shall not apply to the Police Chief and the
Fire Chief where comp time is granted to these officers so long as the Federal
Fair Labor Standards Act provisions are met.
SECTION X.
0 - 4 years
5 - 9 years
10 - 14 years
LONGEVITY SCALE
$ 0.00
500.00 per year
1,000.00 per year
15 - 19 years 1,500.00 per year
20 years and above 2,000.00 per year
($19.23 bi-weekly)
( 38.46 bi-weekly)
( 57.69 bi-weekly)
$ 76.92 bi-weekly)
All longevity is payable in equal increments over the pay period for that year.
This longevity scale was added in 2002 and is not additional to previous
longevity amounts being paid but whichever is greater. Previous longevity pay
shall be calculated by multiplying the number of years employed by the Town
of Mooresville by $200.00. The number of years employed shall be determined
by counting the calendar year an employee was hired as 1 complete year, plus
each successive year the employee has continued to be employed by the Town,
plus the calendar year 1991 (to be treated as 1 additional year) and adding these 3
figures together to derive the amount of longevity pay an employee would be
entitled to. No employee shall receive any credit for longevity service after the year
1991.
Longevity formula 2002 and thereafter shall be as follows:
Longevity pay shall be calculated by using a "longevity scale" set out at the top
of this section and applying the following definitions: a year of service shall be
calculated by the date the individual was hired on a full-time basis and totaling 365
days to complete 1 year of service. The adjustment in pay shall be made annually
based upon the number of years of service as of the employee's hire date of each
calendar year.
