As of Sunday, February 6, the main covered bridge is closed to the public for emergency repair. Supt. <br />Wilson has been in touch with the insurance company, an adjuster, and other representatives through <br />our insurance company. Atter further research, a 'limb' fell on the NE corner of the roof in April of <br />2021. A meeting with a structural engineer will take place on 2.1 S.22 <br />Supt. Wilson brought up a request for a memorial tree program to the Park Board. She recommends <br />that the Park Board look into memorial recognition programs soon, including expense, upkeep, <br />pros/cons, and different options. <br />The 2021 Annual Report was presented to the Park Board. <br />The Board discussed the property adjacent to OTP. There are no future Park plans for development in <br />the area; the discussion was to sell the property. Motion to explore the opportunities of a sale. Motion <br />made by Danny Shaw, seconded by Mark Taylor. Motion carried. <br />Asst. Supt. Wilson requested approval of the new RECU employees. Abigail McClelland, Reagan Reed, <br />Jessica Karamonos. Motion to approve the new employees made by David Pearson, seconded by Lynn <br />Adams. Motion carried. <br />We are actively looking for employees for summer employment. Interviews will begin before Spring <br />Break, if possible. <br />The maintenance department is staying very busy with restraping and repairing the deck chairs with <br />the help of Community Corrections. Additional maintenance projects include pool pump pulled to <br />rebuild this month, Salt spreader motor repair, office remodel, and snow removal/salt road and trails. <br />Supt. Wilson looked at houses on Park property (J1 & J2) for a temporary office during the renovation. <br />The properties will not be a temporary office option. However, the properties would be a way for the <br />fire department to conduct training. Motion to approve the fire department to use park houses for <br />training. Motion made by Matt Saner, seconded by Lynn Adams. <br />There has been an inquiry by some members of the Town Council as to the programming and special <br />events at Bicentennial Park. Supt. Wilson asked the Board to review the programming of a pocket <br />park. <br />She suggested the Board review the scheduling, usage, policies for events/programs/rentals, and <br />associated fees. <br />Claims approved as presented. Motion made by Brian Wiser, seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion <br />carried. <br />The next meeting is on March 14, 2022, at 7:00 pm at the Mooresville Public Library. <br />The meeting was adjourned by David Pearson, seconded by Matt Saner.
