Guest Shawn Heuchan made a special request to name the scout cabin after someone that has had years of service to the scouts of Mooresville. The Park is currently working on a "naming policy," and a Park Board discussion ensued. Census is not to name the scout cabin. Supt. Wilson discussed with the Park Board updates of the paid concert on September 24. The Park does not need to be closed to the public on September 24. The 2023 Concert Series contract with RD Productions will be signed after September 24 to see if a paid concert will work with our Park. The Mooresville 200 group is looking to form a 'task force team to work separately on the Eclipse 2024. Board Member Mark Taylor and Matt Saner showed interest in joining the Mooresville 200 group. Part of the Capital Improvement plan is to replace restrooms at OTP. Supt. Wilson will be looking at potential models from CXT. The restroom models are prefabricated buildings with minimal site preparation. The timeline will depend on the expense, material availability, and logistics of demolition. The OTP replacement restroom will be installed and operational by next Spring. Assistant Superintendent Simpson briefed the Park Board on the overall 2022 summer season. The Aquatic Center closed for the year on August 2. Asst. Supt. Simpson will implement new ideas for camps in 2023. The maintenance department is winterizing the pool and concession stand, and the maintenance dept ensures all our restrooms are ADA compliant. Additional maintenance items are repainting the pool heater building, taking umbrellas down at the pool, grass maintenance at parks, and sealing exposed wood at the covered bridge.
