Jamy's Auto has submitted a special event request to have a Halloween event at Old Town Park set up <br />on Sunday, October 30th, and cleanup on Tuesday, November 1st. The event would have a food truck <br />and grills with many giant blow-up Halloween decorations. The event would be open to the public. <br />Discussion ensued. Motion to approve the Jamy's Auto Special Event Request by Mark Taylor, <br />seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion carried. <br />Special event request from Newby Elementary using Bicentennial Park on September 29th @ 6 pm. <br />The event will consist of 4th graders performing Indiana songs. Discussion ensued. Motion to approve <br />Newby Elementary Request on September fee waived by Mark Taylor, seconded by David Pearson. <br />Motion carried. <br />Supt. Wilson asked the Park Board to sign the 2023 firework agreement to lock in prices before the <br />cost increases. The first payment will not be due until the new year. A motion to sign the 2023 <br />fireworks contract by Lynn Adams, seconded by David Pearson. Motion carried. <br />Supt. Wilson informed the Board of the electrical meter at Shelter one. White Electric issued a quote <br />to upgrade our 200amp service to a 400amp service. If this upgrade is needed, the park board will <br />need to decide if the cost is warranted. <br />November 30th at 1 pm is a scheduled work session. <br />Fhe Table of Content of the Policy Handbook was presented to the Park Board. The rough draft of the <br />handbook will be presented at the October meeting, with a final draft by January. <br />Assistant Superintendent Simpson briefed the Park Board on the "Rockin' Out at Pioneer Park," the <br />RECU Programs, and the Halloween Hike. <br />The maintenance department will finish winterizing the pool. Additional maintenance items are <br />installing cornhole boards at OTP and Pioneer Park, grass maintenance, cleaning up shop for things to <br />go to surplus, upkeep at Bicentennial Park, and repairing a few cracks on concrete at shelters. <br />Claims approved as presented. Motion made by David Pearson seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion <br />carried. <br />The next meeting is on October 17th, 2022, at 7:00 pm at the Mooresville Park Office. <br />The meeting was adjourned by David Pearson, seconded by Lynn Adams.
