am <br />Chief Dalton presented the run stats for December as well as the run stats for 2022. He has a pension <br />board meeting to present a candidate for consideration, and if approved, the department will be fully <br />staffed. He introduced Jordan Russel, who has been given the position of Assistant Chief. There was <br />some discussion about the classifications of the runs. Councilman Williams commended the Chief on the <br />Santa Parade. <br />Dave Moore talked about the need to replace the banners downtown. Mr. Moore requested permission <br />from the council members to advertise for bids on the Mowing of the cemetery for the next two years. <br />He has been meeting with a Kenmore sales representative to facilitate the purchase of a new plow truck <br />however pricing is not available at this time. There was a consensus on the council that Councilman <br />Williams, Councilman Brown and Dave Moore would work on the new banner design. Councilman Cook <br />motioned to allow Dave Moore to move forward with obtaining mowing bids. Councilman Williams <br />seconded. The motion carried 5-0 <br />Kris Wilson stated the Park board has voted to close the zip line permanently. She has submitted her <br />resignation and her last day will be January 20, 2023. The position has been advertised. Council <br />President Warthen thanked her for her time in the department and as the Superintendent. <br />Legal — <br />There were none. <br />Public Comments — <br />Dave Snyder welcomed Councilman Josh Brown to the Town Council. Mr. Snyder expressed his concerns <br />about the size and placement of the sidewalks for the Monroe and Carlisle Street project and the <br />removal of mature trees. <br />Regina Shelby came before the council to follow up with the Town Council on the potential new position <br />of an event coordinator. <br />Approval of Claims — <br />Councilman Swinney motioned to approve claims in the amount of $394,456.06. Councilman Brown <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Approval of Payroll Clearing - <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve the payroll clearing docket for the amount of <br />$205,568.05. Seconded by Council Brown. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Councilman Williams requested to be the street department's liaison with the upcoming 200' <br />anniversary. Council President Warthen stated that department head liaisons are not working as <br />intended; therefore, department heads may seek out whom they wish to discuss their needs with. <br />Councilman Williams mentioned the torch lights and creating a calendar to schedule color changes for <br />holidays and awareness months. <br />Councilman Swinney welcomed Josh Brown to the Council. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, January 17, <br />2023 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, a motion to adjourn was made <br />by Councilman Swinney with a second from Councilman Williams. Motion carried 5-0. <br />
