There were over <br />sixty submissions for the 200th Anniversary badge design contest from Mooresville High School students. <br />Chief Dalton gave an update on the Fireman's Banquet. He has extended a conditional full-time <br />employment offer to one of the part-time employees so the department will soon be back up to <br />full staff. He is in need of an inter -local agreement with Martinsville for the purchase of the gear so it <br />can be executed. The HVAC system at HQ and the firehouse is in need of repairs or replacement, he is <br />seeking an update on the HVAC project. The current HVAC system at the firehouse is a five -ton unit but <br />the ducts are only rated for a three -ton unit so the system is freezing up. He presented some quotes, <br />and Councilman Cook has a meeting scheduled with TRANE to discuss the HVAC. Attorney Lee is in need <br />of a detailed bid from TRANE on the installation and service. Council President Warthen is asking if they <br />can build a 5 -year service agreement into the bid. TRANE will handle the bidding requirement. <br />Chief Dalton had a fire territory meeting with Committee members Councilman Cook, Councilman <br />Williams, Trustee Harris, and board member Bill Snyder. He has worked with Bakertilly and submitted a <br />new budget and timeline to the committee and council members. Chief Dalton wants to make sure that <br />this is ready to go live January of 2024. Assistant Chief Russell stated that the first public notice for the <br />newspaper needs to go out tomorrow. Council President Warthen asked if it was ready to be acted on <br />including the budget and the tax impact, Councilman Cook stated that the committee wants all <br />information to be presented to the public. The accuracy of the hearing announcements was reiterated <br />by Attorney Lee. Councilman Cook made a motion for Attorney Lee to reach out to Paige Sansome to get <br />this put into motion. Councilman Swinney seconded. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve the payroll clearing on January 20, 2023 in the <br />amount of $221,984.97. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve accounts payable vouchers in the amount of <br />$960,664.07. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Town Council Comments <br />There were none. <br />The next regular scheduled meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, February <br />21, 2023 at 6:30 P. M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />With no further business to come before the council at this time, Councilman Brown made a motion to <br />adjourn with a second from Councilman Cook.
