A motion was made for Keelan Simpson to attend Revenue Development and Management School in March at Wheeling, WV using the credit from 2020. Motion made by Brent Callahan, seconded by Mark Taylor. Motion Carried. The motion to move the March Park Board to March 6 was made by Matt Saner and seconded by Danny Lundy. Motion carried. Citizen Bank asked former Park Board Member Brian Wiser to bring small community bands to Bicentennial Park. Mr. Wiser asked the Park Board to approve four Saturdays to have small community bands at Bicentennial Park. The tentative dates are June 3, July 15, August 12, and September 9; times would be 7-10 pm. Discussion ensued. Motion to approve the four Saturday dates sponsored by the Park to be at most $3500 out of N/R Operating Fund made by Mark Taylor, seconded by Danny Shaw. Motion carried. Our current version of website services and design will expire in August. Website security is fundamental. The Park Board was asked to approve the expense of updating and redesigning the website per the presented quote. Discussion ensued, and the decision was tabled until the incoming Superintendent could review the website. The slip and fall lawsuit from January 2022 have been dropped. The lawyers have submitted a motion to dismiss any further action against the town or Park. The electronic sign is not operational. The motherboard will likely need to be replaced, and a quote will follow in the next couple of months. Printed material for the concert series will come out in the next few weeks. Asst. Supt. Simpson presented the January new hires to the Park Board. Hiring for 2023 summer employment is underway, and the Park is working with the high school to recruit lifeguards. An additional evening maintenance person has been hired to spread out the workload. RECU is running smoothly and holding employees to be accountable. Daddy/Daughter Date night was a success, with 116 couples registered. Summer registration will open on April 3. -he Aquatic Center will open on May 20. The Park Board might need to evaluate the operating hours if there are staff shortages. The Park will host a sapling giveaway at Bicentennial Park on April 21.
