The Mooresville 200 Bicentennial Team representative, Virginia Perry, discussed the placement of a <br />time capsule in Bicentennial Park. Discussion ensued. Park staff will continue to work with the <br />Mooresville 200 Bicentennial Team. <br />Morgan County, Special Olympics representative, would like to host a Summer Picnic in the Park on <br />June 24. Shelters 1 & 2 were placed on hold, and Asst. Supt. Simpson to work with the Morgan <br />County Special Olympics. <br />Park Board discussion on a name change from Mooresville Park and Recreation to Mooresville Parks <br />and Recreation, a motion was made to change the name to the Mooresville Parks and Recreation <br />made by Brent Callahan, Benjamin Bungard seconded. Motion carried. <br />The Park Board discussed the use of special events in the park. The topic will be discussed in an April <br />work session. <br />The Park Board discussed a work session on April 21 starting at 12:30p. <br />IDEM has determined that an asbestos check must be completed on J1 and J2 before the fire <br />department can have the fire inspection class in May. Board discussion ensued. Motion made by <br />Danny Lundy to let park staff go forward with an asbestos check, seconded by Danny Shaw, motion <br />carried. <br />Asst. Supt Simpson presented a Scope of Work from Wallace Construction to pave the parking lot at <br />the baseball fields. Mooresville Jr./Sr. Baseball League will be responsible for paying Wallace <br />Construction. Board discussion ensued. Board member Danny Lundy motioned to approve the <br />Wallace Construction Scope of Work if park standards are met, seconded by Mark Taylor. Motion <br />Carried <br />The OTP restrooms are waiting for the update from the state. <br />Asst. Supt. Simpson presented the February new hires to the Park Board. Motion to approve the <br />employees noted in the premeeting minutes made by Lynn Adams, seconded by Brent Callahan. <br />Motion carried. <br />New employee interviewing for 2023 summer employment will begin this week. <br />RECU is actively looking for morning workers, especially at Northwood. <br />Mother/Son Date night is March 11, with 85 couples registered. <br />The maintenance department is actively completing the office renovations. Along with the street <br />department, the Park is working on getting our site prepped for restrooms at OTP. The lights and <br />Tommy Gate lift for the trash truck have been ordered. Mowers will start at the end of the month <br />
