Councilman Cook motioned to allow her to place the box at the Fire Department Headquarters <br />and work with Chief Dalton. Councilman Williams seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Annexation Parks Department Parcels — Phil Cornelius detailed the five parcels to be annexed <br />into the town. Councilman Williams made a motion to move forward with the annexations. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Ordinance 10-2023 Additional Appropriation for the Fire Department to move the funding from <br />selling a vehicle back into the Fire Department Fund. The public hearing has been set for <br />September 5th. <br />Department Head Reports— <br />Fire Chief Dalton gave an update on a part needed for a malfunctioning ladder. The manufacturer <br />is no longer making this part, which increases the price to about $12,000. He is checking into the <br />possibility of having the part fabricated, but there is a liability concern from some fabricators. <br />Councilman Cook motioned to table this until more information about the needed repairs could <br />be gathered. Councilman Brown seconded. Motion Carried 5-0. <br />Phil Cornelius gave an update on the Old Town Park restroom building. It has been delivered, and <br />installations should be completed by the end of the week. The pool heating unit has been <br />repaired and shipped back to the park. The only cost for that repair is the unit's shipping, as it <br />was under warranty. An 18 -hole disc golf course is being constructed, and the hope is to have it <br />completed by September, with plans to have two tournaments by the end of the year. Phil has <br />drafted an Information Technology RFP and will submit it to the department heads, council, and <br />legal. <br />Legal — <br />There were none. <br />Public Comments — <br />There were none. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims for j ,.506,038.61. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Town Council Comments — <br />Council President Warthen presented the award given to the Town of Mooresville at the Kendrick <br />Scholar banquet for the continued partnership with Stability First. <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, September 5, <br />2023, at 6:30 p.m. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />
