MONTHLY MOORESVILLE PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES <br />August 14, 2023 <br />5.4 Discussion of the Halloween Hike statistics. Upon a motion by Lynn Adams, seconded by <br />Danny Lundy, the Board voted 5/1 to approve and accept the daytime Halloween Hike the <br />Saturday Before Halloween. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />6.1 Park Board discussed pursuing the Community Champions Playground grant to build a new <br />play feature in Old Town Park. The Food and Beverage fund has $40,000 budgeted for this year <br />and could use all these funds to gain a new play system in Old Town Park. Upon a motion by <br />Danny Lundy, seconded by Danny Shaw; the Board voted 6/0 to go in front of the Town <br />Council to request the capital improvement money allocated for the park. <br />6.2 Discussion of Park website and webhosting. Upon a motion by Brent Callahan, seconded by <br />Mark Taylor; the Board 6/0 to move forward with the GoDaddy webhosting and revisit next <br />year. <br />6.3 Upon a motion by Danny Lundy, seconded by Brent Callahan; the Board voted 6/0 moved to <br />ratify the hiring of all summer seasonal positions and RECU employees listed in <br />06.04RFA. <br />F <br />7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />7.1. Assistant Superintendent Report <br />7.1.1 The Aquatic Center is officially closed for the season. Splash Pad will stay open until <br />Labor Day. <br />7.1.2 RECU is in operation. Registration is staying close to last year (353 students). Keeping <br />RECU Staff more accountable with their working hours. <br />7.1.3 The last of Summer Concert Series was cancelled due to heat. The rescheduled date is <br />Thursday, August 31. Saturday, September 9`h will be the last concert at Bicentennial <br />Park. <br />7.1.4 Old Settlers had a record setting year. {�� <br />7.1.5 A Special Event Request was presented to the Board. rinity Reformed Church <br />requested a Bicentennial Park Community Prayer Rally on Saturday, September 2nd <br />7.1.6 We are actively hiring for RECU Before/After School Care.
