1' MONTHLY MOORESVILLE PARK BOARD MEETING MINUTES <br />September n, 2o23 <br />order is $80,555.94. This does not include site installation or removal of the old equipment. <br />Installation would be late fall or early winter. <br />Upon a motion by BJ Bungard, seconded by Brent Callahan; the Board voted 7/0 to go forward <br />with the new play structure at OTP. <br />5.3 Upon a motion by Lynn Adams, seconded by Danny Lundy, the Board voted 7/0 moved to <br />ratify the hiring of RECU employees listed in 05.03RFA. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />6.1 After reviewing the preliminary numbers, upon a motion by Danny Lundy, seconded by Danny <br />Shaw; the Board voted 7/0 to go in front of the Town Council to request funding of new <br />Maintenance Facility (Phase One). <br />6.2 Supt. P. Cornelius sought approval to develop and open an RFP for the following components <br />of the new maintenance facility. 1) New Building 2) Building Foundations 3) Site Preparation <br />and 4) Fence and Gate System. Discussion ensued. <br />6.3 Interior Design was tabled until the next meeting. <br />SUPPORTING <br />7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />7.1. Assistant Superintendent Report <br />7.1.1 RECU has increased attendance from this time last year by 25 students. The Parks <br />Recreation coordinator meets with site coordinators regularly and having monthly <br />meetings at each site has helped keep staff more focused and engaged. <br />7.1.2 Halloween Hike scenes are set and soliciting donations. <br />7.1.3 The final concert of the season wrapped up at Bicentennial Park. 2023 was a great <br />concert season. Park staff will meet with RD Productions to set the schedule for 2024 in <br />the near future. <br />7.1.4 Mooresville 200 will be using Bicentennial Park on Sunday, September 17. <br />7.1.5 We are actively hiring for RECU Before/After School Care. Morning people are much <br />desired. Northwood Elementary School has the highest need. <br />7.2. Superintendent Report <br />7.2.1 Ronnie Ratcliff Memorial Fund corn hole tournament will take place at Old Town <br />Waverly Park. <br />7.2.2 The pool heater has been delivered and is being stored in the park office garage bay. <br />
