5.2.1 The new playground equipment has been installed. We will create a 5 feet wide <br />sidewalk leading from the cabin's sidewalk to the new restrooms. The sidewalk will be <br />brought right up to the mulch of the playground. Additionally, we will add a picnic table <br />pad with ADA space on one side. Three new park benches around the playground will <br />be installed. <br />5.2.2 The old merry-go-round to be stripped back to pure metal before re -powder coating it <br />to match the color concept of the new equipment. The merry-go-round should be <br />returned to the powder coating company next week, and we can expect it back within <br />two weeks. By refurbishing the merry-go-round instead of purchasing a new unit, we <br />have saved more than $5,000. <br />5.2.3 The Park staff will meet with landscapers from Starns Outdoor Services to create a plan <br />to landscape around the front and sides of the new restroom. This plan will provide a <br />buffer from our mowers and will be designed in a way that is low maintenance. <br />5.2.4 A community ribbon -cutting ceremony for OTP in early May. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />6.1 Parks staff recommended the hiring of candidate #2 for the Recreation Coordinator <br />position. Upon a motion by Danny Lundy, seconded by Lynn Adams the Board voted <br />6/0 to extend the search to receive more applications. <br />6.2 The 2023 annual report was presented to the Park Board. Upon a motion by Lynn Adams, <br />seconded by Danny Lundy the Board voted 6/0 to release the 2023 annual report <br />for community viewing. <br />P1199Z• <br />7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS <br />7.1 Assistant Superintendent Report <br />7.1.1 RECU has been running smoothly. Meeting with site coordinators regularly to get their <br />feedback on the program for the Rec Coordinator to evaluate how we can improve. <br />7.1.2 Summer program registration opened on Monday, April 1st There are 268 <br />registrations for Swim Lessons. Three hundred forty-three registrations for PAC <br />Camp, 53 students registered for REC Camp* There is a difference in how they <br />register for camps, hence a discrepancy. <br />7.1.3 The eclipse went well. We saw over 185 vehicles and made $1,125 in revenue <br />-- over the weekend event. <br />
