6. NEW BUSINESS 6.1 Mooresville Lions Club - 2024 Old Settlers 6.1.1 The Lions Club representative discussed the 2024 Old Settlers Event and shared entertainment details with the Parks Department to host the event in Pioneer Park. 6.2 Park Equipment 6.2.1 Maintenance staff are currently looking for a new forklift. The current forklift has been discontinued for approximately 20 years. Staff are working with Crown Lifts onfa potential replacement, and they will keep the board informed as more information becomes available. 6.2.2 Park staff are investigating the replacement costs for the Park Gator and a 4x4, and they hope to include at least one of these vehicles in their 2025 budget. 7. DEPARTMENT REPORTS 7.1 Assistant Superintendent Report 7.1.1 RECU 2023-2024 finished the year strong. RECU 2024-2025 begins on August 5. Registration starts on Monday, June 24. 7.1.2 Camp and swim lessons are running smoothly, although there are some minor issues with the new staff. However, they are making progress in the right direction. The number of campers has increased to about 20 kids per week for each camp. 7.1.3 The Summer Concert Series has been progressing well. We are still waiting for a rescheduled date for the first concert; waiting on RD Productions for a rescheduled date. 7.1.4 Vendors have been secured for July 4th, and we are looking forward to another great event! 7.1.5 Programs are fully staffed for the entire summer. At the end of the month, we will contact former and current staff regarding RECU. 7.1.6 Talesha's first day as the Rec Coordinator will be next Monday, June 17 7.2 Superintendent Report 7.2.1 Parks Master Plan Project Update 7.2.1.1 Master Plan Website: ._area✓ ,. 7.2.1.2 We have a total of 110 survey results from our last report.
