He also gave an update on the infant <br />from the incident earlier in the week and commended the first responders for their quick <br />action. <br />The police department has been working with the Mooresville High School art department to design <br />a new badge for the department. There was some discussion about possibly offering the new badges <br />to retirees. He presented the new contract for AT&T 911; legal counsel requested additional time to <br />review the contract. <br />Councilman Brown motioned to approve the. contract pending Legal Counsel's approval. <br />Councilman Swinney seconded. The motion carried 5-0. <br />Chief Buckner updated the council on the additional vehicles being ordered and the extensive repairs <br />needed to the current fleet. <br />Phil Cornelius gave an overview of the summer season that is ending. The security management <br />system is on track to be completed by the end of the month. <br />Lega l: <br />None <br />Public Comments: <br />Dave Snyder came before the Council to request that the town notify the families that may live on W <br />Washington of the street closure that will be requested. <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve claims for $1,051,218.75. Councilman Brown <br />seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing for $251,830.89. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />Councilman Swinney made the motion to approve payroll clearing of $272,841.12. <br />Councilman Brown seconded. Motion carried 5-0 <br />The next regular meeting of the Mooresville Town Council will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, <br />at 6:30 P.M. at the Mooresville Government Center. <br />There being no further business to come before the council at this time, Councilman Brown made a <br />motion to adjourn, which was seconded by Councilman Swinney.
