I here is no turther action needed on the contract by Council. <br />The other item presented by Legal was the agreement with Banning Engineering for <br />Engineering Services pertaining to the Phase Two Southern Sanitary Sewer Project. The Town <br />was approached by the County with the possibility of receiving $2,000,000.00 of the County's <br />ARPA Funds. In order to receive the funds, they must be committed by the end of 2024. <br />Because the Phase Two Project is already mostly designed, is close to being ready to go to bid, <br />and meets the requirements of the type of project the County, it is being considered at the <br />County's September meeting for approval. Kent Elliott of Banning Engineering was present and <br />explained that there were just some minor updates that needed to take place before the <br />project would be ready for bid. <br />A motion to approve the agreement with Banning Engineering was made by Councilman <br />Swinney, second by Councilman Brown. Motion carried 5-0. <br />The Street Closing Permit for the September 29th event on Washington Street was presented <br />with all Department Head signatures. <br />Motion to approve the street closing was made by Councilman Swinney, second by Councilman <br />Brown. Motion carried 5-0. <br />Public Comments - There were none. <br />Motion for Approval of Claims — A motion to approve vouchers in the amount of $1,270,963.01 <br />was made by Councilman Swinney and second by Councilman Brown. Motion carried 5-0. <br />A motion for the approval of payroll clearing vouchers in the amount of $238,335.89 was made <br />by Councilman Swinney and second by Councilman Brown.
