MOORESVILLE BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS <br />MINUTES <br /> THURSDAY, JULY 12, 2001 <br /> <br />The Mooresville Board of Zoning Appeals met on Thursday, July 12,2001, at 7:00 P. M. <br />at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Members present were: Don Barry, President, Alan Kramer, Jeff Justice, Mike Young <br />and Jonathan Swisher. Town Attorney Tim Currens was present. <br /> <br />Motion to approve minutes of the June 14, 2001 was made by Mr. Alan Kramer and <br />second by Mr. Jeff Justice. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />First item on the agenda was Mr. Ross Holloway of Holloway & Associates, representing <br />Perry-Fisher Group LLC, requesting three variances for Lot 4E at Southbridge Crossing. <br />The first variance is for maximum size of sign on building lace from 100 sq. feet to 150 <br />sq. feet; second variance is for total square footage of sign for lot, including the sign on <br />the face of the building and the free standing of 8 V2 by 14 feet for a total of 394 sq. feet; <br />third variance is for the location of the free standing sign from 60 feet to 5 feet from <br />property line which would be in line with Big O, Arby and CVS sign, their sign will be <br />approximately 3 to 5 feet offthe asphalt parking lot. <br /> <br />Mr. Kramer, second by Mr. Justice, made motion to allow the maximum square feet of <br />the sign on the building to be 150 sq. fl. from 100 sq. fl. Motion carded 5-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Kramer, second by Mr. Justice, made motion for total square footage of sign space <br />on the lot to be increased from 294 sq. fi to 394 sq. fi. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Next on the agenda was Dr. David Crane, Physician of Psychiatry, asking fbr a variance <br />from R1 to operate a medical office at 33 W. South Street. He stated that the <br />significance of that specialty is he has very few people come in at one time, so there will <br />be minimal traffic. There is parking space in front and a driveway down the side of the <br />house to a three-car garage, this should allow ample parking tbr his patients. He stated <br />there would be a small 4 fi. by 3 fi. sign on the on the front of the building. Mr. Swisher <br />asked if the sign would have a light and Mr. Currens stated that in residential areas the <br />signs couldn't have a light. <br /> <br />Mr. Young made a motion to allow the variance for Dr. David Crane, at 33 W South <br />Street, from RI to Medical Office with a 12 sq. foot sign unlighted, second by Mr. <br />Kramer. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come befbre the board, Mr. Swisher made a motion to <br />adjourn, second by Mr. Kramer. <br /> <br /> <br />
