<br />assessed valuation in homes in the three communities surrounding the property in question. Mr. <br />Holder gave the Commission photos of Hopkins current operation located on Highway 267. He <br />also presented a petition signed by 462 people for denial of the request Wayne Servall of <br />Wagon Trail Street in Pioneer Country Estates located across from Hopkins current operation <br />reported to the Commission the area was unsightly, constant dust, very noisy, and lots of truck <br />traffic. EDC Director, Harold Gutzwiller made a statement for the record to the Commission <br />concerning properties listed in the report being Commercial instead of Industrial. Jack Woolard, <br />St Rd. 67, asked the Commission to look at the future of water supply to the Town of <br />MooresviIle. Mr. Holloway said the processing plant will be 1/4 mile from the houses and the <br />ground is not titled to Hopkins, the rezone is for Bodell. Commissioner McGuire voiced <br />concerns of neighbors to the east He said in the Morgan County Commissioner's meeting, the <br />Commissioners agreed something needed to be done about the mineral extracting being in <br />several different places. The concern was there were a lot more homes in this area than other <br />areas in the county. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Becky Bischoff addressed the Commission about Davee-Wallace Gravel Pit on Smokey Row. <br />She lives 600 feet from this gravel pit and said operating hours are 5:00 A. M. to 7:30 P. M., it <br />was noisy, she had to vacuum her pool each day, and black silt is in her well water. She said <br />trucks are in the amount of 80 trips a day and school bus drivers are having to fight with the <br />gravel trucks. She told the Commission that she had a meeting with Jim Boyer, County <br />Commissioner, and an attorney the very next day (June 25, 1999.) Motion was made by <br />Commissioner Marshall, second by Commissioner Young to recommend to the Town Council to <br />deny the request for rezone. Motion carried 7-0. Mr. Holloway requested this issue be on the <br />Town Council agenda for July 6, 1999. The remonstrance group said they would be asking for a <br />delay from July 6, 1999 to July 20, 1999 to get the meeting place changed to a bigger place to <br />accomodate the crowd. Town attorney Tim Currens told them they needed to be present at the <br />July 6, 1999 meeting to request <br /> <br />In other business Building Inspector Joe Beikrnan reported to the Commission the BZA had <br />granted a variance to the gift shop to operate on Indianapolis Road until November. A letter was <br />sent to the people selling cars in yard on Indianapolis Road. The cars are gone now. He also <br />reported thirty five (35) building pennits and one hundred forty five (145) inspections. <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Commission at this time, Commissioner <br />McGuire made a motion to adjourn. <br /> <br />The next meeting of the Mooresville Plan Commission will be Thursday, July 22,1999, at 7:00 <br />P.
