<br />MOORESVILLE PLAN COMMISSION <br />MINUTES <br />AUGUST 22, 1996 Thursday 7:30 P. M. <br />MOORESVILLE TOWN HALL <br /> <br />The Mooresville Plan Commission met in regular session on Thursday, <br />August 22, 1996 at the Mooresville Town Hall. <br /> <br />Commission members present were Joel Beebe, Bill Abbott, Charles <br />McGuire, Mike Young, John Ehrhart, Vern Kimmell, Art Raney, and <br />Tim Bennett. Tim Cummins was absent. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner McGuire, second by Commissioner <br />Ehrhart to approve the July 25, 1996 minutes. Motion carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Ross Holloway of Holloway & Assoc. presented Countryview Estates <br />Section 1 for final plat approval. Letter of Escrow funds deposited <br />in Citizens Bank for sidewalks and construction balance of the <br />sanitary system were given to the Commission. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Abbott, second by Commissioner <br />Bennett to approve the Countryview Section 1 final plat. Motion <br />carried 8-0. <br /> <br />'-- <br /> <br />Some citizens living on Orchard Road stated the advertising signs <br />for· Countryview Estates were blocking the road name signs. Town <br />attorney Tim Currens will send a letter to Mr. Crouch concerning <br />the signage. <br /> <br />Next on the agenda was John Waddell of 54 Crosby Rd. pertaining <br />to a zoning violation. Mr. Waddell was not present at the meeting. <br />He has picke~ up the papers to file a variance but has not done <br />so yet. He will be given until the next meeting to file. <br /> <br />The President of the Morgan County Historical Society appeared <br />before the Commission to give an update on the house at 218 <br />South Street. Pat Campbell has been hired to do the masonry <br />work. He will begin September 7, 1996 with the south wall then <br />go to the west wall. Their goal is to get the family back into <br />the home by November 1, 1996. They are seeking a rehabilitation <br />grant from South Central Community Action Program for some of the <br />restoration funding. They could be given a Federal Grant for a <br />furnace and re-wiring of the house. The Commission stressed to <br />the Society that our building inspector Joe Beikman will need to <br />inspect the house before the family moves back in. The Commission <br />also stressed the need for signs to be posted on the property and <br />the loose windows be secured. <br /> <br />The Commission received a letter pertaining to the property located <br />at 126 Merriman Road. The letter stated junk, trash, six un- <br />licensed used cars, and used autoparts on the property. Town attorney <br /> <br />'-- <br />
