~

May IS, 1996

Mr. Joe Bikman
Town of Mooresville
Mooresville Town Hall
26 S. Indiana Street
Mooresville, In. 46158

Dear Mr. Joe Bikman:

I would request that you would investigate what I consider to be a zoning violation that is occuring at
923 S, Johnson Road. The residence is owned by Brian Sterret who is also the owner of Bright Ideas
Electric. The business is currently operated out of the residence at the above mentioned address. This
area is zoned R-I on the current zoning maps. This busniess would not be classified as a customary
home occupation per the defmition supplied in the zoning ordinance. I have attached a copy of that
page of the ordinance. Bright Ideas Electric employs several people who do not reside at said
residence. These employees do park their cars on Johnson Road in the mornings and ride to their jobs
in the company van that is parked at the residence. The employee's cars parked in the street reduce
the width to one lane of traffic creating a possible safety hazard. The owner also stores equipment,
wire and other fixtures used in his business on site in the garage of the residence.

'-'

The R-l zoning does not allow for any use other than customary home occupation as defmed. This
busniess does not seem to fall under this classification and would therefor need to relocate his
business or receive a varience that I would not be in agreement with.

I would request that you please follow up on this situation and infonn me as to the necessary steps
that need to be taken if any.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely, ~

~7f'

pc: Mark Mathis

\-
