Signe Nicholson then questioned whether <br />or not there were questions from the floor. There being no <br />parties present to speak, the Board continued its discussion. <br />William Abbott then moved to recommend to the Town Council the <br />rezoning from Residential to General Business and rezoning from <br />Residential to Industrial as set out in the petition. Robert <br />Tucker questioned whether or not there were any screening <br /> <br />requirements. The Board's Attorney advised that there were none <br /> <br />under the current ordinance. The Board then proceeded to a vote <br /> <br />with 9 members voting in favor of the rezoning and 0 opposed. <br />The next item on the agenda was the rezoning request of Frank <br />& Juanita Freeman and G. R. Wood. Notices were found to be in <br />order and Mark Peden, representing G. R. Wood, outlined the <br />property in question as the old Freeman Florist property. He <br />introduced Dan Harris, a Vice-President and G. R. Wood who was <br />also present. The property in question fronts State Road 67 and <br />is accessed off of Park Drive. Mr. Peden pointed out the <br />location of Theising Veneer across State Road 67 and explained the <br />working relationship between G. R. Wood as a supplier to Theising <br />Veneer. He advised that the old flower shop would come down and <br />the land would be used much the same as the current property owned <br /> <br /> <br />by G. R. Wood which adjoins this. Mr. Harris explained that the <br /> <br /> <br />use would be for log storage for Theising and an additional area <br /> <br /> <br />to store logs. Signe Nicholson questioned whether or not there <br /> <br /> <br />were any recycling processes and environmental concerns. Mr. <br /> <br /> <br />Harris advised that the sawdust and bark were used for landscaping <br /> <br />-2- <br />
