He also advised that he'd spoke with the surrounding neighbors and had not received any negative thoughts or comments. He presented the notices and publications which were checked and found to be in order. The chair entertained comments from the floor and Mr. Brown of 240 E. High Street merely stated that he was interested in what the proposed use was. The Board then proceeded to a discussion of other business uses in the area and location of the residential uses in the area. After the discussion the chair entertained a motion and Steve Edwards moved that the zoning request be recommended to the Town Board for passage as presented. This was seconded by Tilford Bailey and unanimously passed. The next item on the agenda was the update on the unsafe building ordinance hearing on the property of Frank Lowry located at One West Main Street. Building Inspector Beikman advised the Board of the status of the improvements and that although not much work had been completed, the weather had not been conducive to some of the work. A motion was made by Bill Abbott to continue this until the February meeting, this was seconded by Joel Beebe and unanimously carried. The next item on the agenda was the review of the expansion of the buffer zone area. Bill Abbott distributed several maps of the area surrounding Mooresville to each member and the Board proceeded to a review of the buffer zone boundaries. After a lengthy discussion, it was agreed that each member should drive through the respective areas and come back with suggestions as to where the exact boundary line cut-off should be in light of foreseeable annexations which should be blended into the Mooresville Master Plan. -2-
