<br />'- <br /> <br />of North Indiana Street. A drawing, showing twelve parking <br />spaces, was introduced as an exhibit. Signe Nicholson had a <br />question about where the traffic would be routed, and Mr. Mills <br />explained that it would go on to Indiana Street. <br />Chairman Kimmel opened the meeting up to questions from the <br />floor. Paula Westenhofer of 118 North Indiana Street had a <br />question concerning the drainage runoff. Mr. Mills showed where <br />the drain would be, and felt that this would help the area. <br />Cyrus Gray of 114 North Indiana Street had the same question on <br />the water problems that they have experienced in the past due to <br />the broken down curbs. Steve Edwards advised that the Town Board <br />was looking into raising the sidewalks and installing curbs to <br />channel the water and correct this problem. <br /> <br /> <br />There being no further questions from the floor, the Board <br /> <br /> <br />discussed the proposed rezoning. Robert Tucker felt that traffic <br /> <br /> <br />was the only concern. Tilford Bailey felt that the highest and <br /> <br /> <br />best use of any property adjoining a residential area should <br /> <br /> <br />continue to be residential in nature. Mr. Bailey also felt that <br /> <br /> <br />this particular property could not meet the zoning requirements <br /> <br /> <br />for a variance and based upon this, it would not be the highest <br /> <br /> <br />and best use of the property. Dave Barry felt that this area <br /> <br /> <br />provided a business corridor on North Indiana with the bank, <br /> <br />apartments, tavern, and other business uses in the area. <br /> <br />He did <br /> <br />not feel that it would adversely affect the area. He also felt <br /> <br /> <br />that twelve employees, going in and out of the parking lot, would <br /> <br /> <br />not create any additional traffic problem, and that this would be <br /> <br />-' <br />the highest and best use.
