Bill Abbott then indicated that <br />this of course was conditioned upon the Board accepting the Plat. <br />Steve Edwards moved to the floor for comments by remonstrators. <br />Attorney Phil Smith was present representing Mr. and Mrs. Mauer, who <br />live across the road from Allison Drive. Mr. Smith inquired as to <br />how the previous plat had been amended. He was informed that there <br />was merely a change in Lot 16 to meet the width/depth ratio <br />requirements of the ordinance. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Smith indicated that his clients had no objection to more <br /> <br /> <br />housing or to the subdivision in general. Their concern was over <br /> <br /> <br />the layou~ specifically, the placement of proposed Allison Drive. <br />They were against the placement of the road in that it would intersect <br />with Allison Road directly across from their home. <br />Mr. Smith indicated that there was an intersection just down <br />the road and felt that an additional T-intersection into Allison <br />Road would create an additional safety hazard. Mr. Smith had received <br />a letter from the Morgan County Highway Department dated June 29, 1987 <br />which was read into the record. In essence, the letter indicated <br />that from the perspective of the Highway Department, the preferred <br />location in the area for Allison Drive would be immediately south of <br />Duncan Drive. <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Smith again advised that the Mauers have a personal problem <br /> <br /> <br />beside the safety factor. They believe that at night lights from <br /> <br /> <br />~ cars coming out of the subdivision will shine directly into their <br /> <br />---- <br />
